About us
Situated in a secluded area yet with easy access to Hikkaduwa town center, Woodlands Family Villa offers comfortable accommodation for up to 14 guests in 5 Air Conditioned bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. There is a large swimming pool as well as a natural paddle pool which is very unique to the villa. It's filled with fresh water straight from a fountain. Property is surrounded by acres of land with trees full of very tasty fruits, vegetables and herbs all through out the year. You will see plenty of little creatures hopping and running around the place in the morning and at night. Food can be arranged for a fraction of the cost. We have a farm shop where you can buy meat and other items for an nice BBQ. BBQ equipment can also be provided.
Villa can be reached in 2 hours by car from Colombo International Airport.
10 minutes drive to Hikkaduwa town centre where you can find a selection of restaurants, coffee shops, groceries and fashion outlets. Galle Fort is only 30mins away. Baddegama Interchange to the E01 highway is only 15mins drive.

This villa has been the family home of the Kodippili family for over a century. The villa went through extensive renovations and modernization recently to provide our guests with comfort and serenity.Â
Woodlands Family Villa was once home to David Paynter. David Shillingford Paynter, RA, OBE, was an internationally renowned Sri Lankan painter. He was a pioneer creator of a Sri Lankan idiom in what was essentially a Western art form.
